We appreciate everyone who has visited our website, stopped by our Thunder Bay location, and subscribed to the Buzz Newsletter. Starting May 1, 2025, Blanchard Beehives Ltd. will pause its beekeeping activities and the Buzz Newsletter. However, the company will keep the website active and introduce a Q and A forum named 'Ask Bee'. You may send your questions to blanchardbeehives@shaw.ca with the header :Ask Bee. One of our staff will be glad to review your question and may end up posting your question. Be sure to mention if you wish your name to be anonymous.

Starting May 1, 2025, there will be no sales of honey or merchandise. We ask for your patience as Blanchard Beehives Ltd. plans to reorganize and come back bigger and stronger.

Blanchard Beehives Ltd. incorporated in January 2023, The mission of Blanchard Beehives is to provide natural products such as beeswax, honey, honeycomb and propolis for sale at a competitive price. 2023 has been a successful year, The month of January was spent looking at beehive plans and setting up bank accounts and accounting software. February was a time of getting acquainted with the accounting software and planning how to build the beehives. The month of March was spent looking for bee suppliers and point of sale hardware (pos). April was spent finding a location for the beehives. May was a time for constructing three Layens Beehives from plans downloaded at horizontalhive.com. I also managed to buy raw wool Borderlands Sheep Farm and came to an agreement with Mountain Stream Orchard to situate the hives at the orchard. Unfortunately I did not get bees until July. However, we are confident that the bees built up enough stores to weather the winter.
